A credit will appear as actual dollars off the total amount due on your next electric bill or the following bill. There is no penalty for not participating. You just won't earn a credit on your electric bill for that day. And, you can still participate in future Peak Time Savings Hours. The amount your electric bill will be credited will be based on how much energy you are able to reduce versus how much you normally would've used.
